Partnach Gorge: Sometimes I Get Lucky.

I’d like to say I planned this. Studied the angle of the sun, worked out exactly when it would appear between the walls of Partnach Gorge, and arrived at just the right moment.

I didn’t. I got lucky.

The shot with the sun shining down into the gorge is my favorite from this collection. I hadn’t planned my visit around seeing it there, which made coming away with that photograph especially satisfying.

I tend to favor a dramatic edit: strong contrast, deep shadows, and colors pushed or pulled back depending on the image. These photographs lean into that approach. There’s plenty of texture in those rock walls, and I like the contrast between the warmer stone and the cooler water.
